The terms of the bond.

These Terms govern your use of bondedceremony.com and any product or service offered by Bonded Ceremony ("Bonded", "we", "us"), based in Auckland, New Zealand. By using the site, registering a bond, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use Bonded

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must have the authority to enter into a bond on your own behalf.
  • If you register a bond with another person, you confirm they consent to being named.

2. What a bond is, and isn't

A bond registered with Bonded is a public or private declaration of choice between two people. It is not a marriage, civil union, or any other legal status. It carries no legal, financial, tax, immigration, or inheritance consequences. The registry is a permanent archive of choice, not a contract.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms or is used unlawfully.

4. Registration fee

The bond registration fee is USD $1,499. Once a bond is registered and issued a Bond № and certificate, the registration fee is non-refundable. See our Refund Policy for full details.

5. Rings and physical goods

  • Rings are made to order. Lead times are shown at checkout.
  • Engraved or custom-sized rings are personalised goods and cannot be returned unless faulty.
  • Risk passes to you on delivery; please choose your shipping address carefully.
  • Metal and gemstone colour, grain and inclusions vary slightly, this is the nature of the materials.

6. Public Register of Bonds

If you choose a public listing, the names you provide and your Bond № will appear on the public Register of Bonds. You can switch a listing between public and private at any time from your account.

7. Content you submit

You keep ownership of vows, declarations, names, and photos you submit. You grant Bonded a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and archive that content in the registry and (if you have opted in) on the public Register and our marketing channels. You must have the rights to anything you upload, and it must not be unlawful, infringing, or abusive.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Register a bond using another person's identity without their consent.
  • Submit unlawful, hateful, or infringing content.
  • Attempt to disrupt, scrape, or attack the site.
  • Resell or commercially exploit Bonded services without our written consent.

9. Intellectual property

The Bonded name, logo, certificate design, site copy and imagery are owned by Bonded. You may not copy or reuse them without our written permission.

10. Disclaimers

The site and services are provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bonded makes no warranties about uninterrupted availability of the site or that the registry will be free from error. The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ) applies where you acquire goods or services as a consumer.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bonded's total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the services is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

12. Termination

You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. The registry record of a registered bond may be retained as part of the permanent archive even after an account is closed; you can request removal of personal contact details under our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. The courts of New Zealand have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. The "last updated" date will change and, for material changes, we will notify account holders by email or a site notice.
